How You Can Help

FAMM’s mission is to convince Congress and state lawmakers to eliminate mandatory minimum sentencing laws.  These one-size-fits-all sentences are created by the legislature.  Judges must impose them, regardless of whether they fit the crime or the individual offender.  The results: injustice, overcrowded prisons, and high prison costs for taxpayers. 

FAMM relies on people like you to help us change mandatory minimum laws.  Becoming a FAMM supporter means you’ll have exciting opportunities to help us educate state and national leaders about these unfair and ineffective laws.  You can get involved by:

• Being an educator:  learning more about mandatory minimum laws and telling your family, friends, community about this important issue,
• Being part of the story: sharing your incarcerated loved one’s story with us as a potential “face of FAMM" that can help others see the human face of sentencing,
• Being an advocate: writing letters, calling or visiting state and federal legislators, urging them to change the laws.
• Being a donor: donating to FAMM’s mission through tax deductible donations so that we may continue to work towards eliminating mandatory minimum sentencing laws.
