How You Can Help

Becoming a FAMM Supporter

FAMM’s mission is to convince Congress and state lawmakers to eliminate mandatory minimum sentencing laws.  These one-size-fits-all sentences are created by the legislature.  Judges must impose them, regardless of whether they fit the crime or the individual offender.  The results: injustice, overcrowded prisons, and high prison costs for taxpayers.

FAMM relies on people like you to help us change mandatory minimum laws.  Becoming a FAMM supporter means you’ll have exciting opportunities to help us educate the public, the media, and state and national leaders about these unfair and ineffective laws.  You can get involved by:

FAMM empowers our supporters to fight with us for change.  As a supporter of FAMM, you’ll:

  • Receive our newsletter, the FAMMGram, three times a year, getting easy to understand updates on sentencing laws and our work to change them;
  • Hear from us about opportunities to participate in “call-in days” or “lobby days”, during which thousands of our supporters call or visit their legislators and ask for reforms; and
  • Stay up-to-date on all the newest changes to sentencing laws, court decisions and legislation!

FAMM is not a legal services provider, which means we cannot:

  • Give you or your loved ones legal advice, research, representation, or referrals;
  • Help you or your loved ones write or file an application for executive clemency or write a letter or sign a petition in support of that application; and
  • Help you or your loved ones challenge prison conditions, get court documents, get proper medical care in prison, or sue government officials.

We look forward to hearing from you.  To become a FAMM supporter today, click here. Thank you for your interest in just and fair sentences for everyone!

Together we will succeed in eliminating mandatory minimum sentencing laws.
