Public hearing on crack guideline retroactivity - 11/13/07
The United States Sentencing Commission is holding a public hearing on the retroactivity of the federal crack cocaine guideline amendment on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at the Georgetown University Law Center at 9:30 a.m.
A FAMM representative will testify and we encourage FAMM members to attend the hearing. FAMM's letter writing campaign to the Sentencing Commission has helped generate 10,000 letters in support of making the proposed changes to federal crack cocaine guidelines retroactive (this means the changes would be applicable to people in federal prison who are serving guideline sentences for crack.) Let's show the human face of these unjust laws by bringing a photo of your loved one in prison to the hearing.
Please arrive early to claim a seat and be prepared for a crowded hearing room. Look for a FAMM staff member or volunteer outside of the hearing room, who will have information and a FAMM button for you.
