To help the environment and be more cost effective, FAMM will begin emailing our newsletter to members on our email list in spring 2009. By receiving your FAMMGram online, you can help us "go green," save paper and save FAMM dollars! Our newsletter will still include all the information you have enjoyed in the past. You can also visit our website at your convenience, click on the FAMMGram icon and read the latest news anytime.
We're also changing how we handle legal questions from prisoners. For years, we answered letters even when we could not help. But now we need to focus with laser-like intensity on changing mandatory sentencing laws. As of January 1, FAMM will no longer read or respond to mail requesting legal help, advice, research, or referrals to attorneys. If you write asking for any of these things, we will not respond to your letter. If you need legal help, are looking for a lawyer, or are having problems with your lawyer, take a look at our new Frequently Asked Questions on finding and working with attorneys or visit your prison law library.
We don't want you to miss out on any news. As part of our effort to go green, FAMM is cleaning up our mailing list to save print and postage costs. If we haven't heard from you recently, please call FAMM at (202) 822-6700 or email famm@famm.org to stay on our mailing list. Our incarcerated members will continue to receive a print copy of our newsletter.
Please click here to make sure you're on FAMM's email list. And, use the "tell a friend" option to let your friends and family know about us.
Thanks for helping FAMM go green. With your help, we can change mandatory minimum sentencing laws!
