Families Against Mandatory Minimums (FAMM) works to put a human face on mandatory sentencing laws through our "profiles of injustice," which tell the stories of people serving mandatory minimum sentences.

FAMM compiles these profiles by distributing FAMM profile forms to federal and state prisoners. Prisoners fill these forms out with the basic facts of their conviction and send them to FAMM, along with a brief account of their personal background.  
 
FAMM uses the profiles of injustice in our work with legislators, in public presentations, and in public education materials, including FAMM brochures, pamphlets, posters and other informational materials.  We also highlight select cases in the FAMMGram newsletter and here on our website. An even smaller number of cases are made available to media for use in newspaper and magazines articles, and for radio and television interviews or feature stories.*
